Brian Elliott has completely turned his and the Flames season around. In doing so, he has now tied  Mike Vernon’s franchise record for most consecutive wins. Providing he gets the start in his next game on Tuesday, he will be facing the Washington Capitals on the road to get that record. This will not be an easy game as Washington is one of the tougher places to play. They own a record of 28-6-2 record at home. Washington also broke up Columbus streak of consecutive wins earlier this year. In that game the Blue Jackets were going after win 17.

Even though Calgary doesn’t have a huge winning streak, Elliott does and he would love to get that franchise record. Elliott struggled for most of the year. In his first year with the club, before this streak he was 12-13-3. At one point he even lost the net to Chad Johnson. Brian knew he would get his confidence back and has now got the Flames sitting in 3rd place just a point behind the Anaheim Ducks. The Edmonton Oilers are right on the heels of the Flames as well, as they sit one point back and they have a game in hand. The Flames are kind of wishing the playoffs started today, the team is playing well and they have a red hot goalie in net. The Flames look poised to make a playoff run.
