The Calgary Flames have assigned defenseman Rasmus Andersson to the Stockton Heat (AHL), the team announced on Monday. This move is due to the return of Travis Hamonic, who has been cleared to play against the St.Louis Blues tonight.

Andersson, 21, was drafted 53rd overall by the Flames in 2015. He didn't register a point in one game played with the Flames this season.

In ten games played with the Heat, the 6'1", 214 pounds Swedish defenseman had register eight points.

He has 30 points in 69 games played at the AHL level (regular season and playoffs included).
