Flames forward leaves team for opportunity to play for China in 2022 Olympics

According to a report from NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, Calgary Flames forward Spencer Foo has left the team and will sign with the KHL’s Kunlun Red Star. Foo, who is of Chinese descent, will also be eligible to play for Team China when they host the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.

The 25 year old Foo had two goals in four games with the Flames during the 2017-18 season and 17 goals and 38 points in 67 games with the Flames’ AHL affiliate Stockton Heat this past season.
