The Calgary Flames got a piece of bad news on the injury front on Wednesday.
Flames forward Lance Bouma is expected to miss at least three months of action after suffering a broken left fibula in Tuesday's loss to the St. Louis Blues.
General manager Brad Treliving confirmed the injury on Sportsnet's Hockey Central and also confirmed that Bouma will have surgery on Wednesday.
Bouma is not a star player by any means , but was a crucial secondary scorer last year, netting 16 goals on 15.4 percent shooting.
This is an unfortunate loss for Calgary this early into the 2015-16 season.
