Flames’ Giordano wipes out Hurricanes’ Gibbons with clothesline!

I am not sure we can call this a hockey play… 

On Tuesday night, the Calgary Flames visited the Carolina Hurricanes and the first period was quite a feisty one. 

Flames captain Mark Giordano was sent directly to the penalty box for a dangerous move on forward Brian Gibbons. 

Giordano was caught clotheslining the poor guy with his left hand as he attempted to stop the forward from breaking away. Gibbons quickly fell to the ice as the Flames blue liner knew he would be in trouble. I mean, he took him out!
