Flames GM calls out rival GM for “asinine” comments about his captain.

We may have a war of words brewing between two general managers, and it's a war that could spill over into the playoffs.

After Ducks general manager Bob Murray called out Calgary Flames captain Mark Giordano for his knee on knee hit to Anaheim Ducks star defenseman Cam Fowler, the Flames have responded.

This time it was Flames general manager Brad Treliving pulling no punches, going so far as to suggest that Murray's comments may not have been the smartest.

"Those are asinine comments. Giordano is a true pro."

While normally these kids of comments being hurled back and forth by NHL GMs would make headlines, the fact that these two teams are set to face off in the first round of the playoffs could make things truly electric.
