The Calgary Flames are looking to shake off a tough 13-year road losing streak when they take on the Anaheim Ducks at the Honda Center this evening.

The last time the Flames won a regular season game at the Honda Center was on January 19th of 2004, to put that into perspective for you, the Flames star rookie Matthew Tkachuk was only six years old at the time. The Flames do have a playoff win that came a little more recently, but even that dates back 11 years to April 25, 2006.

The Flames will have their final opportunity of the season to crack the curse this evening , although the team's coach believes they will need to improve their current form if they are to snap that streak.

“If we play like we did (Sunday), we’re not going to end that thing either,” said Flames had coach Glen Gulutzan as per the Calgary Herald. “We need to be better. We’re not thinking about a streak or anything. We’re just thinking about being better in Anaheim on Tuesday.”

Of course this Flames team is much different than the one that last walked away with a victory in 2006, that team was led by captain Jarome Iginla. That being said you can bet the player's are acutely aware of the streak, and it will be interesting to see how they respond.
