The Calgary Flames announced the re-signing of two goalie prospects today:

Both Gilles and Rittich are on board for another year on two-way deals with the Alberta club.

Gillies made his NHL debut last season against the Los Angeles Kings s on April 6th. The Flames won the game 4-1 and Gillies managed 27 saves. The 23-year-old Concord, New Hampshire native played 39 games with the Stockton Heat last season, posting a 2.93 GAA, and a .910 save percentage.

Rittich also made his NHL debut last year when he was called in to replace Elliott in a 3-1 loss against the San Jose Sharks on April 8th. The 24-year-old Czech netminder played 31 games for the Stockton Heat last season. He posted a 5-11-1 record, with a 2.27 GAA, .924 save percentage and five shutouts.

Both players did well splitting the net in the AHL last year, and it looks like they'll have another season to prove to the Flames who deserves to eventually be backing up Mike Smith in Calgary.
