Flames release update on T.J. Brodie
Zuma Press

In case you missed the news last week, Calgary Flames defenseman T.J. Brodie collapsed on the ice at his team’s practice and had to be attended to by arena paramedics.

Suffice it to say that it was an absolutely terrifying for Brodie, his family, his friends and his teammates.

The 29 year old Brodie has no history of heart problems, seizures or any other serious health issues. In 21 games with the Flames so far this season, Brodie has eight points.

Earlier today Flames general manager Brad Treliving issued an update on Brodie’s health. Read below:

“TJ has been working out for the past several days and today skated on his own under the supervision of our medical staff. Over this past week he has had consultations with appropriate specialists in Calgary. To date all medical evaluations and testing have been reassuring. We still work to complete final testing and are optimistic he will re-join the team in the near future. TJ has been placed on injury reserve retroactive to November 14th.”

While Brodie’s return to the lineup is still up in the air, it’s at least good to hear that he’ll make a full recovery and looks like he’ll resume his NHL career.

The 29 year old blueliner has eight assists in 21 games.
