Flames reportedly working on 7 million dollar deal with young forward.

It sounds like the Calgary Flames are working hard to avoid arbitration with one of their young forwards.

While there has not yet been an official announcement in this regard, Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman is now reporting that both the Calgary Flames as well as 25-year-old winger Michael Ferland are working on a two-year deal.

According to Friedman it would be a 7 million dollar deal and, if the details of his report are indeed accurate, that would bring his average annual value for the next two seasons to $3.5 million.

Ferland is coming off a strong season that saw him pick up 15 goals and 10 assists for 25 points in 76 regular season games with the Flames last season, and it seems the Flames are hoping he will continue to trend in that direction.
