Flames rumored to be working on new deal with Elliott.
Keystone Press

It appears that former St. Louis Blues goaltender Brian Elliott has quickly made his mark in Calgary after being traded at the draft, and now there are reports of a contract extension between the two parties.

St. Louis Blues rinkiside reporter for Fox Sports Midwest has reported that those talks are in fact already under way, although it's unclear what that deal could look like. While Elliott only appeared in 41 games last season he had a solid showing when called upon recording a 2.07 goals against average and a very impressive .930 save percentage over that stretch.

If Elliott were to demonstrate he can maintain that level of play over a full season with the Flames, the second round draft pick in 2018, as well as the conditional third rounder the Flames gave up to acquire him, will seem like a bargain.
