The Calgary Flames made a few roster related announcement late on Thursday before the long weekend in which they will face the Vegas Golden Knights and the Arizona Coyotes. The Canadian team announced that defenceman Michael Stone has been placed on injured reserve with a blood clot. There is no timeline for his recovery.

On top of that, another player also lands on the injured reserve as Michael Frolik joins Stone after missing the Flames’ 6-3 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday night. He’s been listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury and won’t travel with the team on their upcoming road trip to Vegas and Arizona.

Stone's ailment sure sounds serious, however, very little additional details have been given on his condition. Stone’s blood clot was discovered by the team on Thursday morning and general manager Brad Treliving says they will have more information over the next few days.

Fans also got worried about the absence of forward Sam Bennett during practice yesterday. However, it was made clear that he is reportedly fine after blocking a shot in Wednesday’s win.

The Flames will made a few call ups, there we will keep you posted once the announcement is made.

UPDATE: The Flames announced today that they have recalled defenceman Oliver Kylington and forward Ryan Lomberg from the Stockton Heat.
