Flames veteran defenseman scratched for tonight's game

The Flames will be without one of their usual defenseman for tonight's game.

Dennis Wideman is going to be a healthy scratch against the Vancouver Canucks. Surprising considering in the two loses they suffered at the hands of the Oilers, Wideman had a goal and was +1. 

Brett Kulak will take his place in the lineup. In 9 games, Kulak has no points and is -2 with 9 shots on goal. He is a mobile defenseman with a solid first pass.

Perhaps the Flames are looking to change things up after starting the season 0-2. We will have to wait and see if this change to their lineup has the impact they are hoping for.
