The Calgary Flames have not been spared the apparent holiday injury curse around the National Hockey League, one potentially caused by the condensed schedule coming off the World Cup of Hockey.

Darren Hynes of the Canadian Press is reporting that Flames veteran forward Troy Brouwer has suffered a broken finger, an injury that required corrective surgery, and as a result is expected to miss significant time and has been listed as "week to week."

The 31-year-old Brouwer has played a significant role for the Flames this season appearing in 36 games for them and registering 8 goals and 9 assists over that stretch.
