The Florida Panthers have signed forward Owen Tippett to a three-year entry-level contract. Tippett, an 18-year-old left winger, is a first-round pick, selected 10th overall in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.

"I'm thrilled to sign Owen to his first NHL contract," said Panthers' GM Dave Tallon

"Owen is a natural goal scorer with a bright future and he already possesses NHL-ready size and speed. We're looking forward to watching him compete for a spot on our NHL roster at training camp this fall."

Tippett, led his team, the Mississauga Steelheads, in scoring this past season as he found the back of the net 44 times and added 31 assists to finish his second OHL season with 75 points in 60 games.

We will keep updated on how he performs during training camp.

And just in case you were wondering, Owen Tippett is not related to Arizona Coyotes head coach Dave Tippett
