Flyers and Habs caught in lopsided trade?!

The Montreal Canadiens are known to be looking at making major trades in the summer, however the latest speculation makes it seem like they would be pulling the impossible.

TVA Sports cites NHL Network collaborators Dennis Bernstein and Anthony Di Marco claiming the Habs have been linked to Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere.

It has been mentioned that the Flyers have had a great deal of interest in rugged Canadiens forward Andrew Shaw. Bernstein also added Flyers GM Chuck Fletcher is also looking at speedy left wing Paul Byron.

However, if we look at the elements being reported, it surely feels like Gostisbehere to Montreal for Shaw and Byron appears to be way too lopsided in the Canadiens’ favour…

Let’s not forget that Gostisbehere is just a year removed from a career-high 65-point performance. It feels like his asking price would be much steeper than the two veteran forwards… But he would definitely address the Canadiens’ need for a skilled left-side blue liner.

Let’s see if this rumour dies down or if Habs GM Marc Bergevin manages to pull a rabbit - a Ghost I should say - out of his hat!
