Flyers assign veteran defenseman to the AHL

The Philadelphia Flyers have loaned defenseman Will O'Neill to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms (AHL), the team announced on Sunday.

O'Neill was recalled on October 31st and joined the team for their two-game trip in St.Louis and Chicago. He played one of the two games, without registering a point. The 29-year old defenseman was drafted 210th overall by the Atlanta Trashers in 2006. He played his first game in the NHL with the Flyers against the Blues.

In 346 games played in the AHL, O'Neill registered 191 points.
