If you're a Philadelphia Flyers right winger right now you might be wondering about what your role will be heading in to next season.

In an official press release on Friday the Flyers announced that they have agreed to terms on a new one-year deal for former Columbus Blue Jackets second round draft choice Petr Straka, and while he showed promise early in the American Hockey League last season, it's still hard to imagine him cracking the Flyer's roster this season.

The Flyers who already have players like Wayne Simmonds and Matt Read in their roles on the right wing also added former Montreal Canadien and Chicago Blackhawks forward Dale Weiss through free agency this summer. With those three names taking up three valuable roster spots it doesn't leave many opportunities for players like Straka, and he isn't alone, both Taylor Leier and Radel Fazleev will likely also be hoping to make an impression this summer.

Straka also did give a good account of himself in his brief time with the NHL club last season, putting up two points in the three games he appeared in, with a plus minus differential of +1 over that stretch.
