Flyers Dave Hakstol shows once again he's not afraid to bench a big name.

It's becoming rather clear that Philadelphia Flyers head coach Dave Hakstol expects more from his defense.

Just a few short games ago he benched Flyers star Shayne Gostisbehere, making him a healthy scratch, presumably to send some sort of message to the young defender, and now he's doing the same to veteran Michael Del Zotto.  Del Zotta who has just returned from a knee injury has only appeared in 7 games for the Flyers this season, making it likely that he will be very unhappy about this move, especially when you consider this is a contract year for him. 

Unfortunately fans will likely cringe a little when they learn that according to Philly.com's Sam Carchidi it will be polarizing defenseman Andrew McDonald swapping into the lineup. The Flyers take on the Florida Panthers tonight in a clash between two teams trying to battle their way into the top half of their respective divisions.
