The Philadelphia Flyers are red hot right now thanks in large part to finally receiving some solid goaltending from goaltender Steve Mason, but they have now hit the first significant roadblock in their current winning streak.

A report from Flyers insider Tim Panaccio of CSN Philly has revealed that veteran forward Matt Read has suffered an upper-body injury and as a result is expected to miss time. While there has been no official report, Panaccio is reporting that the injury is an "oblique muscle pull," and as of right now it's unclear how much time Read is expected to miss.

Thankfully a muscle pull sounds like a relatively minor injury, which would lead one to believe that any time missed by Read should be minimal, although it has to be said that this is mere speculation. The veteran forward has been a core part of the Flyers offense appearing in 27 games for Philly this season and accounting for six goals and two assists over that stretch.
