Flyers masterfully troll the Penguins during the 2019 NHL All Star Game.

So freaking petty!

Breaking news everyone, the Philadelphia Flyers and the Pittsburgh Penguins do not really like one another.

The Flyers and Penguins have had one of the best rivalries in the sport of hockey for the past several years now and it has resulted in both intense moments on the ice as well as some hilarious back and forth banter between the two teams as well as members of their respective fan bases. That being said though with this rivalry having gone on for so long that the teams always have to come up with new and creative ways to troll one another.

Well on Saturday night the Flyers manage to find a new way to take a jab at their interstate rivals during the 2019 National Hockey All Star Game and, although it absolutely came off incredibly petty, I must admit it was a rather brilliant way to throw an extremely subtle jab at the Penguins. The Flyers social media account began tracking every goal during the All Star Game, and was crediting all of the players who scored them while also keeping their followers on social media abreast of the score in the game. However there were some notable exceptions on the tracking from the Flyers social media account.

You see the Flyers social media appeared to magically "forget" to include both Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby and Pittsburgh Penguins star defenseman Kris Letang from any mention on their social media account, going so far as to not report their goals in the game at all. Now of course this is by no means a big deal, but for the fans who managed to catch on to the gimmick it proved to be a rather hilarious little joke that not all that many seemed to get.

I'll be perfectly honest I love this kind of subtle and friendly trash talk between rival teams in the National Hockey League and I wish that there were more teams who engaged in this kind of open hostility with one another. The best part about this though is that you just know Penguins will be plotting revenge of some kind, and I very much look forward to seeing it.
