Flyers' player knows he could be traded shortly.

Michael Del Zotto knows he might have a new home by March.1.

The Philadelphia Flyers' defenseman has been the subject of trade speculation, as the trade deadline quickly approaches. For his part, the 26-year old blueliner knows he might be traded, but is choosing not to focus on that.

"It happens every year," Del Zotto said. "It’s not like it’s the first time. I’ve been traded before. It is what it is. It’s a business. You realize that pretty early in your career. I understand where I’m at as far as my contract, being a UFA this summer. Same thing with taking each game one day at a time. You take each day one day at a time. Go home, make dinner, get ready for tomorrow and whatever happens, happens." 

This wouldn't be the first time that Del Zotto has faced being traded, as he was dealt from the New York Rangers to the Nashville Predators in January of 2014.

Del Zotto is in the final season of a two-year, $7.75 million deal and can become an unrestricted free agent this summer. The offensive-minded D-man would likely bring a decent return for the Flyers as a rental, but the question is if the Flyers see themselves as sellers.

Del Zotto currently has 10 points in 32 games and is second among Flyers defensemen with 113 hits, while averaging 19:23 of ice time per game. He's also missed a total of 22 games this season due to injury.

Ron Hextall would likely seek pick for him, but seeing as the Flyers are not out of the playoff race yet, his future is very much uncertain.
