Flyers players and management whine about the cheering from their fans.

Going public with this was a terrible idea.

From the Legion of Doom to sounding like a bunch of spoiled brats.

The Phildelphia Flyers have gone public with a complaint they have about their very own fans and how they cheer for the during the game, and it sounds like one of the most counterproductive complaints I have ever heard.

The fans at Wells Fargo Center have been belting out "Woos" much in the way The Nature Boy Ric Flair would during his professional wrestling career, but at least some of the players and the head coach of the Flyers aren't happy about it. Jakub Voracek compared fans to a bunch of ten year olds indicating that he clearly isn't at all happy with the latest trend from his fan base.

He wasn't the only one annoyed by it either, the coaching staff got in on the mix.

"Let's hope it's a short-lived fad," said Dave Hakstol.

There are two big takeaways here. The first is that trying to tell fans in Philadelphia how to behave is an extremely stupid idea, they are some of the most passionate, stubborn and unconventional fans in all of sports, and they are going to do what they want when they want to do it. The second takeaway is that the Flyers may be a little mentally fragile, if celebratory cheers from your own fans are putting you on tilt you may want to engage in a little self-reflection.
