If you had asked most Philadelphia Flyers' fans what they thought of their team a few months into the season, you may have received some rather colorful responses. The Flyers have turned it around however, and for the first time this season they now find themselves in a playoff position.
The Flyers have now won 8 of their last 10 games, and furthermore they have done so against some of the elite competition in the National Hockey League, including the team they just knocked out of a playoff spot, the Detroit Red Wings, and a huge win on Wednesday night over the defending Stanley Cup Champions.
The Flyers now sit one point ahead of Detroit, and they also have one game in hand over the Red Wings, and now must gear up for the battle of Pennsylvania this Saturday when they will face off against bitter rivals the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Penguins currently have a two points lead on the Flyers this season, and Philadelphia will look to continue their dominant run and close that cap this Saturday.
