Flyers will honor and carry founder Ed Snider with them on their jersey's.

This will come as a surprise to no one but it's still a great gesture from the Flyers organization.

The Philadelphia Flyers will be carrying the spirit of recently deceased team founder Ed Snider into the playoffs this year, and they will also be commemorating his life and his incredible contributions to the game of hockey and to the community with a special patch worn on their jersey's.

The patch(shown below) will be simple and classy, and will salute Snider by emblazoning his initials "EMS" which stands for his full birth name of Edward Malcolm Snider.

The Flyers are the biggest underdogs in the first round against the Washington Capitals, but they head into this postseason with a whole lot more to play for than any other season before, it now remains to be seen if it will inspire the Flyers and be enough to push them past the #1 seed.
