Three on three overtime may be the best thing to happen to the National Hockey League in a long time.
We once again were treated to a fantastic overtime display on Thursday night when the Minnesota Wild and Philadelphia Flyers were all tied up at three goals a piece after three periods of play.
While the Wild appeared to be in control for the majority of the overtime frame, an extended shift for the Flyers top players in the final minute paid off in a big way. Not only did the Flyers walk away with the win, but they did it with style, executing a highlight reel play to end it in OT.
