File this under the category of things you thought you’d NEVER ever read.

Former Boston Bruins forward P.J. Axelsson was surprised recently to find out that he’s a hair model… in Bolivia.

Uh… excuse me?

Let’s back up a bit.

The 44 year old Swedish forward retired from professional hockey in 2013 after four seasons with Frolunda in the Swedish Elite League, but last played with the Bruins in 2008-09. In total, Axelsson put up 103 goals and 287 points in 797 career NHL games. Now… he’s a hair model in South America, evidently.

Twitter user @Hackspetten031 spotted Axelsson’s photo, along with former Vancouver Canucks forward Ryan Shannon ironically enough, at a hair salon in Bolivia and tweeted it out for the world to see.

Check it out:

Translated from Swedish, the tweet reads:

“How sick is it that Per-Johan “Pebben” Axelsson is one of the alternatives to different hairstyles you can choose from in a hairdresser’s salon in Bolivia?”

When asked by Swedish publisher Expressen about it, all Axelsson could do was laugh. “I’ve been getting a lot of messages about that now,” he says.

But how did it happen?

“It’s absolutely incredible. I have no idea how I ended up there.”

You have to admit though… that’s one gorgeous head of hair.
