Former Boston Bruins second round pick (47th overall, 2008 NHL Entry Draft) Maxime Sauvé has announced his retirement from professional hockey at just age 28 after sustaining two devastating concussions in just a month.

Sauvé suited up for just one NHL game with the Bruins and was shipped to the Chicago Blackhawks in 2013 in exchange for Rob Flick. Over the course of his pro career Sauvé suited up for the Providence Bruins, Rockford IceHogs, Norfolk Admirals, Kölner Haie, the South Carolina Stingrays and Jonquière Marquis before playing the last year and a half with Bordeaux in France.
