Former first overall draft pick rumored to be part of big trade.

Multiple sources are reporting rumors of a big player for player trade in the National Hockey League.

Once again it appears that general manager Peter Chiarelli is the man making all the moves this summer as he is rumored to be looking to deal Nail Yakupov to the Florida Panthers in exchange for adding Alex Petrovic to the Edmonton Oilers roster. Just on it's surface, the rumor makes sense from the Oilers perspective, Chiarelli has demonstrated his willingness to shed offensive talent for help on the blue line already in the Taylor Hall for Adam Larsson deal.

The rumor first surfaced in an article from Beer League Heroes, but it really picked up steam when TSN's Dustin Nielson chimed in and appeared to confirm that very rumor.No word yet on if other pieces may be involved here, or how close the two sides are to a deal, but we will continue to monitor this story.
