Former first round draft choice has been placed on waivers.

The 10th overall pick in the 2008 National Hockey League draft has seemingly hit a new low point in his career.

The Nashville Predators have placed forward Cody Hodgson on waivers, despite the fact that he was performing relatively well during his short tenure with the organization. While this is merely speculation, it would seem reasonable to assume that the acquisition of Ryan Johansen may have directly impacted this move.

The question now becomes whether or not a team will be willing to gamble on Hodgson for depth, and with his relatively low cap hit of just over $1 million is seems like that is at the very least a possibility.

Despite only producing 8 points in 39 games this season Hodgson's advanced metrics are decent, and in the right system he could potentially contribute, albeit in a limited fashion, to a playoff contender.
