At thirty-three years of age the decline of forward  Jason Spezza may be in full effect, although it's still not to late for him to turn his season around.

Spezza has been shaky to start of the season for the Stars, and while he has demonstrated an ability to still produce on the offensive side of the ice, his defensive liablities have been costly, and as a result have set him plummeting down the depth chart.

Now, according to a report from Andy Strickland of Fox Sports, the Stars have demoted Spezza all the way down to their fourth line, likely a tough moment for the former second overall pick in the 2001 National Hockey League Draft.

There has been no official announcement from any member of the Stars in this regard, but Strickland is a solid source and it appears that this is in fact legitimate. Spezza has eight points on the season, four goals and four assists,  and a plus minus rating of -11 over that stretch.
