A former National Hockey League first round pick has just made some very interesting comments.

According to a report from Nova Caps Fans, in a recent Russian-language interview, former Washington Capitals first round pick Alexander Semin has expressed his willingness to return to the NHL should he receive an offer.

From Nova Caps Fans:

He was asked if he would be interested in returning to the NHL and answered that his agent would deal with all proposals, with everything being under negotiation. Semin said as soon as his agent can arrange a deal, he would go right away, whether to the NHL or the KHL.

The 33-year-old forward has played the last two seasons of his professional career in the Kontinental Hockey League, but he is currently a free agent and would be eligible to return should he receive an NHL offer.

Semin had a less than impressive finish to his time in the NHL with his last two seasons as a member of the Carolina Hurricanes and Montreal Canadiens respectively were underwhelming by his standards.

There has never been any doubt about Semin's talent, but some have questioned his drive to be great, but it would certainly be interesting to see what a motivated Alex Semin could do next season in the NHL.
