By now many consider former first round pick Tim Erixon a draft bust, but it sounds like he may get a major second chance.
Erixon was drafted 23rd overall in the 2009 National Hockey League Entry Draft by the Calgary Flames, but despite his draft pedigree he has only played in a total 93 NHL games since.
Now however according to an official report from the New Jersey Devils Erixon has agreed to join them in training camp on a professional tryout offer, this despite not having played in a single NHL game over the past two seasons.
Erixon is coming off back to back season in the American Hockey League with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, and in his most recent season he appeared in 54 games recording 4 goals and 13 assists for a total of 17 points.
