A tough guy in the desert.

The Coyotes have been quietly building an interesting roster in the last months. GM John Chayka seems to have a clear plan in mind and all his moves have a clear purpose and intention. It might not turn as good as expected, but it's refreshing to see a GM not scared to make big moves.

Today, he made a small acquisition that could have nice repercussion. The Coyotes announced the signature of enforcer and veteran Zac Rinaldo.

The details of the contract are not known yet, but it's safe to say it will not be for a lot of money not long term. Rinaldo was most recently playing for the Providence Bruins but he still has 275 games in the NHL under his belt. Citing his 27 points along the way is a bit pointless as his role is not to put the puck in the net but prevent the other team to do so comfortably.

A controversial figure in the past, Rinaldo might get a fresh start in Arizona that could relaunch his career. At 27 years, he still has plenty of hockey left in the tank but he needs to learn to behave a bit better.
