A National Hockey League veteran with over 300 games of NHL experience is officially a free agent, and now whether or not teams come calling may determine the future of his career in the league.

Boston Bruins insider Joe Haggerty is now reporting that the Bruins have officially cut center Ryan White from his professional tryout offer, a move that comes as a major surprise given the reports out of Boston today.

The Bruins announced that both forwards Brad Marchand ad David Krejci would be sidelined with injury today, and the fact that White still can't crack a roster that has lost multiple forwards is a bad sign.

That being said White has ties to a number of NHL franchises having previously played for the Montreal Canadies, Philadelphia Flyers, Arizona Coyotes and the Minnesota Wild at the NHL level.

In the case of the Habs specifically White was a relatively popular player and the Canadiens are currently a team that has significant cap space and a lack of depth at center. Whether or not they would have any interest however likely depends on how diminished the skills of White are at this current stage of his career.

We'll likely know more about White's future in the next couple of days.
