It's sad to see a part of your childhood turn out like this but unfortunately these are sometimes the facts of life.

On Sunday night former star of Disney's legendary hockey trilogy "The Mighty Ducks" Shaun Weiss was arrested in Los Angeles as he attempted to steal $200 worth of goods from a local drug store. Now Weiss' name may not be immediately recognizable to hockey fans the name of his character in the Mighty Ducks series will almost certainly ring a bell. Weiss played chubby goaltender "Goldberg" one of the most iconic and most beloved characters in the series, and one that many modern day hockey fans will have found childhood memories of.

Now according to a report from TMZ Weiss is now facing a charge of petty theft as well as a violation of his probation for his attempts to shoplift $200 worth of "stuff" from a Rite Aid in Los Angeles. This marks a continued downward spiral for Weiss who has seemingly lost complete control of his life over the course of the past year, facing several arrests and even serving significant hail time as a result of his petty crimes.

Earlier this year Weiss had been arrested for public intoxication and there was some hope that he would turn his life around after entering a rehab facility but it now seems like those efforts may have been futile. This unfortunately does not mark the only time that Weiss failed to turn his life around after seemingly hitting rock bottom.

In July of last year he was sentenced to 150 days in jail, for another shoplifting incident that very closely resembles the one from Sunday night, and although his manager at the time expressed that Weiss would attempt to sober up in jail, he was arrested just a few short days after being released for drug possession. That resulted in an additional sentence of 90 days in jail in Weiss but unfortunately those do not appear to have served as a wake up call given his continued downward spiral.

As you can see from the mugshot Weiss is in very bad shape, and his friends have been pleading with him to get help. But unfortunately it does not seem like Weiss is ready to help himself at this time.
