Former NHL captain reportedly dead at just 48 years old

According to multiple online reports, former Nashville Predators captain Greg Johnson has passed away at just 48 years old.




Johnson, a native of Thunder Bay, Ontario, played 785 games split between the Preds, Chicago Blackhawks, Pittsburgh Penguins and Detroit Red Wings. He amassed 145 career goals and 369 career points.

USA Today is reporting that the cause of death has not been disclosed.

Former Nashville Predators captain Greg Johnson, known for his soft-spoken, affable demeanor, died Monday morning at his home, according to a family friend.
The friend asked not to be identified because he was not authorized to disclose the information.
No cause of death was provided.
