Former NHL goalie lays a big hit in KHL playoff game

Believe it or not but the KHL’s Gagarin Cup Playoffs are in full swing, with the second round commencing just last night.

Earlier this week in a pivotal Game 7 showdown between the Nizhny Novgorod Torpedo and Barys Astana, Torpedo goalie Barry Brust, who spent over a decade playing in various leagues in North America, came ready to play. 

Check out this hit that Brust throws late in the game with his team down by one and facing elimination:

Unfortunately, it was all in vain as Barys Astana managed to hang on to their lead and secure victory.
