Former NHL head coach severely critiques Habs' defenseman

The Montreal Canadiens lost two of their three first games in the 2017-18 season so far. It is clear the offense has been struggling, as the Habs habs only scored two goals against Buffalo on Thursday, and one against Washington on Saturday. But it is fair to say that some defensemen, such as Mark Streit or Jeff Petry, have also had a few problems.

Former Stanley Cup winning coach Bob Hartley didn't mince his words when he was asked about how Petry has been playing since the start of the season:

"It is time for Jeff Petry to wake up. He hasn't shown anything good during the camp, and isn't playing much better right now."

The 29-year-old defenseman already has a plus/minus rating of -4, and wasn't able to record a single point over last three games. Other experts have also mentioned that he really needs to step his game up, considering he earns $5.5 million per season until 2021.

Do you think Petry has been playing well enough?
