While this is very unlikely to happen, we have to admit it would be HUGE!

Former NHL head coach suggests monster deal between the Canadiens and the Oilers!

The Montreal Canadiens and Edmonton Oilers have been extremely disappointing since the start of the 2017-18 season. Even though many experts believed they were going to be Stanley Cup contenders again this year, both teams are at the bottom of the NHL standings. The Habs are currently 9 points out of a playoff spot, while Edmonton are 12 points away.

This is why a bunch of experts believe it is time for both organizations to make a major shake up. Among them, former Quebec Nordiques' head coach Michel Bergeron, who's now an analyst for TVA Sports

In a recent column, he said the Canadiens need to trade their star goaltender Carey Price for a top centerman. And he believes he found the perfect trade candidate:

What is currently happening with the Montreal Canadiens is just inconcevable, and the solution must be radical. Today, if I was the team's general manager, I would try to trade Carey Price in order to acquire a star center, and my target would be Leon Draisaitl. Edmonton has been struggling recently, but they can count on one of the best players in the world: Connor McDavid. With a star goaltender in front of the net, they could quickly become cup contenders again."

Bergeron added that a transaction would be the only way to bring a star netminder in Edmonton, because he says this market isn't big enough for a star like Price.

In 32 games this year, Price has a record of 13-15-4, a goals against average of 2.96 and a save percentage of .908. He won the Hart Memorial, William M. Jennings and Vezina Trophy back in 2014-15, as well as the Ted Lindsay award. His new eight-year, $84-million contract will start next season.

On the other hand, Draisaitl has 36 points in 42 games this season. Last year, he amassed 77 points in 82 games. He is in the first season of an eight-year, $68-million contract.

Do you think such an important, franchise-altering move could be great for these two teams?
