Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby was the subject of multiple controversies in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final, and on Friday former National Hockey League referee Kerry Fraser commented on those controversies.

First regarding the incident that saw Crosby drop several punches on the head of P.K. Subban, Fraser stated that while Crosby explained that Subban was holding onto his leg, he still feels Crosby should have been awarded an additional two minutes for repeatedly striking Subban in the dome.

Even more interesting however was the fact that he completely disputed Crosby's account of the water bottle incident, an incident in which Crosby appeared to have intentionally tossed a water bottle onto the ice.

When Crosby spoke to reporters following the game, he denied that the move had been intentional, and appeared to imply that the bottle had merely slipped out of his hand, Fraser had this to say:

"Appeared as though Sid wanted to get their attention? The bottle didn't fall out of his hand & drop over the boards. Travelled some distance."
