Former NHL scout hints at major transactions over the next couple of weeks

As the trade deadline gets closer and closer, general managers and other executives from NHL teams will have to make a crucial decision regarding what their strategy is going to be on this day. Are they going to be sellers? Are they going to go all-in and be buyers, in hopes of reaching the Stanley Cup finals?

Former NHL scout Grant McCagg said there were many meetings on this very particular topic, all around the National Hockey League over the past few days. He also added some of the teams he believes will be sellers on February 26:

As a matter of fact, TSN690 host Tony Marinaro tweeted just minutes before that Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin and his team had a few meetings yesterday:

The Habs are currently ranked 25th in the NHL, and are still 9 points out of the playoffs race, even though they were able to beat the Washington Capitals last night. As for the Edmonton Oilers, Vancouver Canucks and Ottawa Senators, they are also ranked among the league's worst teams this year, and have very little chance of making the playoffs.
