Former NHL star Scott Gomez gives up hockey to become an Instagram influencer

I dunno... I usually like my Instagram influencers to have more bikini shots...

It's no secret that NHL players are lacking when it comes to self promotion, especially when compared to athletes in the NFL, NBA or MLB. But you know what? That's just fine by me. Frankly, I kind of like the fact that NHL players aren't the type to put themselves out there for everyone to see. These are mostly humble guys who aren't too keen on putting themselves before their teammates. It's one of the things that I love about hockey.

Now, having said all that... I absolutely LOVE what former NHLer Scott Gomez is doing in his retirement. Gomez, who played an absolutely stellar 16 year career with the New Jersey Devils, New York Rangers, Montreal Canadiens, San Jose Sharks, Florida Panthers, St. Louis Blues and Ottawa Senators, has officially kicked off a new career as an Instagram influencer. And no, we're not talking about bikini photos and your usual "influencer" style content, we're talking some legit hilarious content from the former Habs captain.
