Former NHLer disfigured by slap shot to the face.

Oh boy a former National Hockey League player has suffered a gruesome injury and the craziest part is he decided he would stop and take a picture of it before getting himself fixed up by the team's medical staff. Fair warning the image below is not for the faint of heart.

The player who suffered the injury was Jay Rosehill, a former member of both the Toronto Maple Leafs' and Philadelphia flyers' organizations, having played as recently as this past season for the Flyers' American Hockey League affiliate the Leigh Valley Phantoms.

Rosehill is currently playing in Europe in the Elite Ice Hockey League, and it was during a game there that he was the victim of a vicious slap shot to the face, one that resulted in him not only requiring 30 stitches but also cause him to suffer a broken palate.

As an additional note, major props to Rosehill for being tough enough to pose for the damn picture.
