Former NHLer Erat nearly decapitates opponent; leads to line brawl!

Most of the time, when a former National Hockey League player heads to Europe in the last active years of his career, we have already moved on and never really feel the need to talk about him again. 

Martin Erat wanted to make sure that didn’t happen, however, he went about it in the most dangerous and dirty way possible. 

Erat has been playing in the Czech Republic since the 2016-17 season and on Tuesday, he nearly decapitated a rival player with one of the most brutal hits you’ll see this season. 

Tomas Havranek was th victim of Erat’s hit and you can tell by the video, the impact was just brutal. According to an article from hokejkaTV, Havranek suffered a concussion and a fractured nose because of the hit.

Havranek’s teammates weren’t going to let Erat get away with it. On the ice, right after the collision, a line brawl took place while the team’s trainer needed to pay attention to poor Havranek. 

Erat was suspended for 6 games and appealed the suspension, but his appeal was unsuccessful.
