Former NHLer looking to comeback for at least one more NHL season.

We have a very interesting rumor from the top Columbus Blue Jackets insider. 

A report from Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch has revealed that former National Hockey League forward R.J. Umberger is attempting to make a comeback for one more season.

According to Portzline the former first round draft selection has signed a professional tryout offer with the Dallas Stars, and this could be one more addition to an already very impressive offseason for Dallas.

Umberger received no offers after being bought out of his contract with the Philadelphia Flyers, however should he demonstrate that he can still contribute at 25-years of age, it would be very interesting indeed to see him in a depth role on the new Stars line up.

This is only a tryout offer however, and Umberger still has a ways to go before he gets an official NHL contract.
