A former National Hockey League player turned Montreal radio personality claims to know just how much it will cost to acquire Montreal Canadiens superstar defenseman P.K. Subban.

According to a report from Georges Laraque a source from the Oilers organization has confirmed to him that Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin has asked Edmonton for both their 4th overall pick in the 2016 National Hockey League Entry Draft, as well as 20 year old center Leon Draisaitl in exchange for his #1 defenseman.

It's a massive asking price for GM Petr Chiarelli to give up, but word is Chiarelli is hell bent on acquiring Subban to finally bring a true number one defenseman to the Oilers. According to Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal, sources say Chiarelli is still very much all-in on Subban.

Edmonton Oilers general manager Peter Chiarelli has cast a wide net for a No. 1 defenceman for weeks now, and sources say he’s still angling hard for the biggest fish who might be out there — the Montreal Canadiens’ P.K. Subban, who would form an incredible tag-team on the power play with Connor McDavid.

Now only time will tell if both general managers pull the trigger.

For those who haven't been following the story, this began with a shocking report out of Montreal detailing why Subban would be traded, and the trade rumors are no longer rumors as they have been confirmed by an NHL GM.
