Former Detroit Red Wings veteran forward and one-time Stanley Cup champion Dan Cleary is not yet ready to hang up his skates for good, reports NBC Sports.
The 37-year-old has signed a one-year deal with Detroit’s AHL affiliate in Grand Rapids, only one week after the Red Wings announced that they had offered him a professional tryout contract.
“I am, and always will be, a Red Wing at heart. I really enjoyed what I did last season, being in that role, helping the young kids grow into being future Red Wings.”
