What more does the Hall of Famer has to say? He was pretty clear...

As if the Matt Duchene saga was not intense enough in Denver, it went up a notch earlier this week when Hall of Famer and former Colorado Avalanche star Peter Forsberg went on to say the team should not only trade the 26-year--old, but sit him out until it was able to do so.

"Doubtful that he should be allowed to play [for the Avalanche]," Forsberg said on the Swedish broadcast on Saturday, as translated by Expressen reporter Robin Lindgren and reported in the Denver Post. "Put him in the stands. If I were playing with a player that I know doesn't even want to be in the team, it's not like he is going to throw himself on the ice and block shots with his head. It is mostly difficult to have a player like that in the team, although he is skillful and is doing his best.

"I would rather play with someone that wants to be there. I would put him on the bench and trade him."

Duchene himself responded to the remarks, in a very wise manner, shrugging off the comments and not taking them personally. It apparently had an impact of the Hall of Famer, since Pierre LeBrun of TSN has reported that Forsberg is looking to reach out to Duchene to clarify his remarks and talk it out.

LeBrun added that Duchene is open to have a direct conversation with Forsberg, it is only a matter of time and planning it.

The 26-year-old forward, who keeps hearing his name in the rumor mill, might benefit from a few advice by the legendary player.
