Forward Expected To Log Big Minutes

Third-line forward demonstrates he can be slotted anywhere within the Red Wings' lineup.

One of the standout performers of the preseason thus far is none other than Riley Sheahan. After signing a two-year contract extension with the Detroit Red Wings last summer, the 24-year-old center is looking to solidify his place within the lineup for good.

 

Last season, the 6’3” forward listed at 222 lbs netted (a career-best) 14 goals and 25 points in 81 games. Thus, he’s believed to be on the road to becoming an elite third-line center, as his offensive production was not necessarily at its best. Still, he demonstrated that he can be slotted into any situation within a game, including with the man advantage or on the penalty kill.
